A Letter from the Author

There and Back Again is about my childhood, youth, and growth to maturity in two cultures, the parts that I think may be more interesting to others.
The title of course comes from the fictional book written by Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein. The whole series was read to me by my fifth grade teacher in 1966 at Woodstock School in India and I was enthralled by the adventure.
So I have written from my earliest memories to an age of deeper understanding - my journey and adventures, for any to glean from its’ words a connection to their own journey. It is a story of listening for the truth, a spiritual journey on the road home.
I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it
